Re: Paddling with injurie

I've never figured out the picture posting bit or I would post a picture of my 93 year old father with significant arthritis, polymyalgia rheumatica (14 years on low dose prednisone) a rotator cuff tear, etc, etc sitting in a kayak on Squam Lake NH with the biggest grin on his face after a 3 hour paddle. To get into the kayak he stands in 18 inch deep water, holds onto the dock for dear life and pulls the kayak between his legs. He then sort of falls into the cockpit ( an fairly open one). Uses both hand to get each leg in.

PS I am also a Physical Therapist and would recommend you try renting one for an hour or so and trying it out. Try sitting on the floor with your feet out in front of you and your knees bent like there was a pillow under your knees. If that doesn't seem problematic you can probably paddle.
