I think something got lost in the typing here. I meant no slur on anyone nor was I saying anything about which paddle type (if either) is better. All I wanted to point out was a taxonomic point - that the paddle types are actually related and basically function the same way. I totally agree that each needs a different technique and that the best thing to do is practice, practice and practice. My guess is that people who use both frequently are probably the best paddlers out there.

Anyway, sorry if it didn't come off the way I meant it to. I really didn't mean to offend. I'll try to choose my words more carefully next time.
