From a 6 foot long, 1 inch diameter kayak double paddle that came in at 31 oz to a 22 foot mast for a Gaff boat over in Florida that only weighed 41 pounds, plus several combination Aluminum tube/birdsmouth top.
Really quick and simple to do once you understand the methology. And EXTREMELY versatile too- you can do tapers, double tapers, round, roughly oval, etc- All with just a table saw. There are also router bits available to cut the mouths if you don't have access to a table saw.
Do a Google search on "Birdsmouth Masts" and sit back to read-grin.
