It's also sort of relaxing. Since you're sanding something that's already really smooth, it doesn't take much effort. There's no dust, just a light mud and it's quiet except for a soothing rhythmic whoosh-whoosh sound. No protective gear needed and you can do it anytime without bothering the family or neighbors. It's a very pleasant way of spending a very early summer morning.
