RE: Bow/stern lines

I have a rack mounted to factory rails built into the roof of the SUV so I'm not worried about the rack going bye-bye. Tying the bow and stern lines to the rack prevents forward and aft movement during those "holy crap, red light!" braking moments, while the straps over the boat keep it from lifting. If the straps loosened, broke, or were inadvertently left slack (don't ask) the bow/stern lines tied to the rack better contains the boat then lines tied to the bumpers.

And I do not like having lines chaffing away at my hood.

For those of you with feebly attached racks you may need to mount a 3/8" eyebolt through the center of the roof.

Keep the rubber side down and wooden side up, John
