cartopping long boats

I keep seeing pictures and folks actually driving with long boats fastened only to the top racks.

I have been into cartopping boats for most of my life and till now I have not found any cartopping device that can safely hold boats travelling at 100 k in a prairie wind without ropeing down both bow and stern to a fixed metal part under the vehicle body.

Hope this helps someone save a boat and maybe lives.
