That makes a lot of sense. I wonder how others deal with this issue. I am finishing a boat that someone else built half way done. No blueprint or instructions. Any hints would be greatly appreciated. Where should I position this block in relation to the rudder? There is another detail that bothers me. The block is flat, but the deck surface is curved slightly. Do you shape the block to conform the deck? Otherwise, how do you glue it to the deck?
