Fear not! I'm pretty sure all my rub rail pieces were the same size. The excess is easily trimmed off. I even used some of the excess as a hiking stick, attached to the tiller.

The others pieces of lumber are probably packing spacers. Mine had something written on them, to the effect of "not a kit part". They do look somewhat like the skid strips, so don't confuse them.
