Sorry, but it's NOT

Minwax Helmsman Spar Urethane varnish is no where NEAR as good as Z Spar Flagship (2015) or even Captain's ( 1015). I've tried all three.

Helmsman works just fine below decks, but in the sun on a daily basis it'll fail in 1/4 to 1/3 the time that 2015 (Flagship) will. I've had to completely refinish parts in less than 2 months in our sun. It simply does not have the U/V screening that the Z Spar products have. THAT's why they cost more.

We intend to give Bristol Finish a try on a mast redo we are scheduled for, but on ALL exterior varnish on the boats I build, so far I've found nothing even close to ZSpar 2015.
