Planing sheer clamp on MC

Next step, planing the sheer clamp on the MC 16. Doing a quick check with the quides, it looks like not much is needed at the bow and stern, however, I'm wondering about the cockpit area. Do the narrow side pieces "take" a bend or lay flat on the sheer clamp and carlin ? Looks like it should just lay flat, and if so, then the inside of the sheer clamp would need just a bit of planing. Am I missing something here ?
