I'm with Lee. We have two Lt17s that we use for extensive wilderness tripping along some pretty harsh coastlines. No rubrails on our boats and they look beautiful when I hang them in the great room for the winter.

IMO the mohogany will only get more beat up looking than the glassed hull ever would - especially if you plan on depending on them to take abuse.
