I've had some experience towing the Eastport. I use about 40 feet of 5/8 nylon line. I drilled a hole through the center of the bow panel and tied a knot in the rope.

The boat tracks well and planes at sailing speeds. However it does take on water in rough conditions. Make sure you cover the dagger board slot if you have the boat set up for sailing. Also, install bumper pads on the gunwhales.

The last time we took it on the sailboat we elected to carry it on the deck rather then tow. Also we felt the Eastport is a little small for a sailboat tender.
