It looks great but I'm afraid I chickened out on the all-wooden rudder. I also looked at the beautiful job our buddy Kurt did on his and wanted the same. The problem is I just couldn't convince myself it would be durable enough. I have too often been paddling close to a beach only to have my kayak lifted up and moved over by a passing motor boats wake. I just couldn't see how a wooden rudder could withstand that kind of side force without breaking so I went with the ugly standard unit. I do however like the looks of your all wooden system much better.
