Its not the fact that the 'yak will be high and dry allot of the time, its when the boat IS in the water that the chance for water to sit where these layups have been poured, IE in a drilled hole through the front and rear for a tie line etc. If you don't fill/seal the entire hole, not just the wood that you drilled through, water will get into that foam and work its way to wood all in the endpour and you will end up with something you don't want.
