Ingrid, I feel like you, that I would love to build boats for a living. Even here in Florida where there is water everywhere, there just isn't enough interest in boats costing what we would have to ask in return for our investment. Thats why kit/plan companies came along. It may be interesting to try and sell your services instead, let the kit company sell the boat and you contract the building of said kit. Again though, not many can afford to pay for such services.
