IF there is another boat in my future I'm going to glue the sheer strakes just 1/16th proud at the bow and stern and 3/8ths proud amidships. It's stupid to have to plane off almost all of the quarter inch proud at each end when they will be essentially level with the sides anyway, and you can use a little more sheer strake proud near the cockpit where the width results in fairly steep planing angles and a concomittantly high incursion into the strake. (Do I get extra credit for "concommittantly"?) Any problems with this concept?
