Thanks Lee,

After 4 coats of epoxy, things are starting to shape up. I have been, as you have said, exposing the weave on the edge of the overlap when I sand it. I was worried that subsequent coats would not wet out the glass after it had been sanded into, but it surely does. I almost have everything smooth now. I have just a couple of spots to touch up and then I think I've got it!
