TEXAS KAYAK BUILDERS BASH

Posted by John Caldeira on Jan 20, 2007

This year's Texas Kayak Builders Bash will be held on the Gulf of Mexico coast at San Luis Pass County Park on Saturday, April 28. Join us for a day of display, conversation and fun centered around home-built kayaks, canoes and other small boats. Bring and display your home-built boats, or simply come to view the crafts, learn and engage in conversation about boat building. The general public is invited.

San Luis Pass County Park is between Galveston and Freeport, at the southwest end of the bridge to Galveston Island. The boat display will be bayside, where we can paddle boats and enjoy on-water demonstrations. Surf potential is a short paddle away. The event is free, but the park has an $5 per vehicle entrance fee.

On Sunday, we'll tour the Galveston Ship Channel and harbor by kayak.

Camping and motel accommodations are plentiful within a short drive, but make reservations early.
