All of this talk about sandpaper , costs, grit paper quality .... A good set of scrapers will go a long way to giving the cloth / epoxy surface a very smooth surface. On my last boat I think I may have used 5 or 6 150 grit disks on my ROS to clean up after I scraped the surface flat and a few sheets of wet/dry 220 & 400 for the varnish. The scrapers are cost efective and easy to use. Good luck with your build
