Down with runs

Scrape, sand, fill, ignore... Whatever you do to them, epoxy runs are bothersome. They are also a sign that we've been using too much epoxy, and the kayak is some pounds heavier than it might have been.

Using "just enough and no more" is something of an art, but worth striving for because it saves time and weight. These days, while epoxying, I visualize myself carrying the finished kayak. The cockpit rim is just starting to dig uncomfortably into my shoulder. I find it a good motivator!
