Progress

Dear Diary,

Finished attaching the two runners to the bottom of the Sharpie today. Time to complete was 12 to 18 months. Was not working on them the whole time, though.

Reminder: write a tip for the Forum on how great a disk grinder is for shortening screws that were too long and stuck through the bottom of the runners. Or stuck out the side of the runners, for those screws that were not quite drilled perfectly straight. Be sure to mention the fact that some remedial epoxy work will be necessary, as this particular brand of grinder seems to be able to cut wood as well as it does brass.

Well, tomorrow should be a big day. I hope to find that old CLC instruction manual by day's end, to find out what the next step is.

It is exciting seeing the boat come together so quickly, but probably should write a note of encouragement to the slower builders on the forum.

Also, re those calcified areas that are starting to appear: might need to ask if okoume can become petrified during those "little vacations" from the project that sometimes become necessary due to work, Barbershop Chorus Internationals, kids, wives, napping, etc.

Got to go now.
