MC rudder install

I'm doing this install right now and I would prefer not to have my rudder prevented from fully descending by the spacer provided by CLC. i don't find that to be a particularly elegant solution.

Of course, something must be done however...

Has anyone attempted to install the rudder out past the stern by fixing some sort of extension off the stern?
