The issue might not be with the turbo itself, but with the transmission. Do the Turbo Subarus come with a performance-oriented tranny that might be a little light weight for towing work, or lack a tranny oil cooler?

But as has been said, the towing effort associated with CLC-type boats is no worse than an extra adult or two inside the car. As with any tow vehicle, it's important to adhere to the total vehicle weight capacity.
