Hi Charlie,

I'm assuming that I'd have a straight sot at the area via an open hatch. If that assumption is wrong than I'm all wet and I don't really undertand end pours.

But, if indeed the kayak is stood on end and secured, and if indeed a ladder, (or better yet, the upper level of a deck) is to be used as a platform from which to do the pour itself, I would use that same platform and a long stick/pole/pipe with sandpaper on the end to do the sanding. (If you Google on "kayak "end pour"" (without the outermost quotes), you'll find at least one site that describes that exact same process.) Vacuuming would be easy given the number of vacuum hoses I, my friends and family have.

I know it sounds like a hassle, but believe me, that ain't nothing compared the antics I've suffered through working as a carpenter, drywaller, and finally an engineer.

In any event, it looks like Lazslo has a MUCH better approach, so as Emily Latella would say, "Never mind..."
