You may be going into uncharted territory on that one. All of my onlays are under the glass cloth. Someone else here may have tried it that way, but I'm not sure. I'm just curious, why don't you want to glass your deck? It adds a ton of strength and dent resistance. I guess my official answer is that they need to be covered with cloth for protection from the elements and strength. The epoxy coated wood is still easy to dent, I spent several hours steaming out some dents on the last boat I built. It was a real pain to sand off the epoxy, remove the dents and recoat. Let's see what some others have to say.-Joey
