Satin Finish

I'm just finishing up sanding the deck on my CH16 (w/220 grit), and I'm kinda digging how the finish looks, when is isn't all glossy.

Has anyone ever heard of or tried using the satin or flat finish varnish on the entire boat, and how did it turn out? If you have one finished like that, and have pictures that you could post, that would be great!
