I'm just getting started on a Merganser (Shearwater's older brother) and was able to by everything Plans, wood, epoxy, fiberglass pumps, gloves, spreaders clamps, random orbital sander, japanese saw etc, wood for work bench and saw horses and much more for a total of $700 including shipping. It took a few weeks of shopping via the internet.

Now I have the tools I need and enough fiberglass left over for my next kayak (most likely a Mill Creek 13) so I expect the cost for theat to be about $350-$400 for wood and epoxy.
