Alan, I've just thought of another possible interaction with electronics. Moving magnetic fields will generate current in anything metallic in the same fashion as an electrical generator. So I would think these powerful magnets are capable of scrambling any electronic device that moves past them close enough and fast enough, simply by generating current in the circuit board traces.
