i have built the arctic hawk as well as several other of the CLC series. it came out drop-dead gorgeous in a way that i had not been able to acheive on my other boats.

the preciseness of the arctic hawk manual brings to you a lot of experience from the builder in creating a first class finish. so part of what i was trying to accomplish was to take advantage of the learnings of Mark Rodgers...the original designer/builder.

So at least for that project, i was remiss to deviate from his recommendations unless i really had an alternate approach that i had experience with.

the cool thing is that if you ever want to create that type of finish on another boat, you will now have technique in your bag of tricks to get there.
