Wierd wood physics...

After nutshell prams etc. I started the Oxford shell the other day. I scarfed the 6" wide 3MM side panels and epoxied the sheer clamps in place. I used mahoganny for the sheer calmps since I have 13 foot lengths lying about. So I placed the 20 foot long panels in the driveway for the day to cure. By the time I got home that night one had this long arcing curve to it. All I could guess was that the sun caused the 3/4" sheer clamp to lengthen enough to arc the 3mm panel. So I left it out in the cold air overnight and checked it again in the morning. It was straight again. I've seen wood move before but not like this. Sounds crazy but....
