I go with Jeffrey Wong's advice. When I built my boat, I moved the bulkhead forward to where it fit best. This made the cockpit larger than necessary, and the forward storage compartment smaller. Not a really big deal, but still a poor choice. In fact, that is a nice feature of building your own boat: you can make minor adjustments to fit your own body, such as leg length. Smaller cockpit and larger storage is a better choice, particularly for shorter people like me.
