Meanwhile, out on the water, an attendee puts the Sassfras 16 through its paces under the watchful eye of a volunteer from the Chesapeake Paddlers Association. The CPA volunteers provided a safety watch, making sure that paddlers didn't get into trouble with unfamiliar boats on unfamiliar waters with lots of wind. They were the extra set of eys who warned us when we were drifting out of the demo area, when a rowboat was about to ram a kayak, when a powerboat wake was coming, etc. Thanks guys!
