I have just recently observed the opposite on my 17LT.

It was completed just about a year ago, garage kept, and as I removed the hatch cover straps last night to give it a fresh coat of varnish I noticed that under the straps was LIGHTER than the exposed wood.

The varnish is the CLC recommended Interlux Schooner Varnish.

I rather like the slightly darker amber wood tones which it appears to be aging into but wonder if this color change is indicative of anything.

Any thoughts ?
