Shearwater/deck install

Looking for a few good suggestions.

I am currently attaching the deck to the hull of a Shearwater 17 stitch and glue. I just don't see how I'm going to reach into the bow and stern ends of the kayak, not to mention being able to see what I'm doing. I think I'll have about 12-16" with no internal support structure.

Is this an issue?, considering that it will be glassed on the outside.
