Front hatch covers

I just finished gluing up the hatch covers (CH16) and I'm a little concerned with the result of the front covers. I ensured that the radius on the frames was 16" as in the plans. When I set them over the opening the center sits well but the edges don't seem to fit snug against the rim. They are up approx. 1/8" above the rim. Should I be concerned or will the foam strip and straps still give me a water tight seal? The aft hatches with the 24" radius seem to fit better. Thanks as always.
