Mac, Yea, it hurt real bad; especially when I reached inside the stern compartment and felt the stoved in plywood. It was on the bottom panel though, so no one will see it. I think your suggestion of a heroic tale is better than blaming Kurt. I've learned a lot from his input to the forum (as well as the Sawdust Factory), and from the forum in general. The collective knowledge is pretty impressive, and I know it helps us rookies build a better boat.

I'm building my second boat now (a CH 16 for my wife) and I'm confident it will turn out better. Soft pad eyes for sure. Now if I can just avoid dropping it!!
