one quibble

if you drive that finish nail exactly on the point, the batten won't exactly cross the point. The nail should be JUST enough off so the batten itself crosses the points- which isn't much I'll admit but it CAN make a difference, particularly in a tight curve.

And one other point- NEVER nail THROUGH the batten. Ruins a good batten and can give an unfair line.
