The sweep of the rocker in the MKII over the MKI allows greater ability to ride over waves. Too, it can be more difficult to build those old style CLC hulls symmetrically between the two. More over the longer 12' racing amas and the shorter 8' amas seemed optimized in length in the MKII version. Its a more elegant design where as the olde seems a bit ungainly as well.

I ought to work at CLC, there answer offered didnt touch on anything really.
