A stripper is a fiberglass/epoxy hull with a wooden core. When you apply the varnish it goes on the outside which is impervious to water and will not rot. The varnish is needed only to protect the epoxy from the UV rays of the sun. No matter what you put in the varnish it will not penetrate the epoxy one bit.
