Skerry assembly issue
Posted by David H on Apr 20, 2006
When stitching the first (No. 1) panels to the sole, I get a 1/4 inch gap at the base of the bow and stern. I also get gaps mid-panel.
My first approach was to put a long clamp across the boat and sinch up the midsections more than "hand tight." I was hoping the rest of the panels would have enough play to close up the sides and push the side panels toward the ends. This closed the sides, but did not close the bow and stern.
Anyone run into this? Do I need to drop back and punt, or do I cruise forward and craft (cold mold?) the bottoms of the bow and stern?
Thanks in advance. David H
