Rubrails

I just finished a Mill Creek 16.5�went with painted hull, varnished deck and the rubrail that came with the kit. As soon as I get the MC-16.5 out of my garage,(launch delayed by rain in Cal.) I'm going to order a CH-16. To rail or not to rail? Gotta order with boat�no retrofit. I like the neat transition line the rail made between paint and varnish, but on a CH-16, too much weight?� too bulky?
