me too - so also don't interfere w/ wind and clambering over the deck on rescue/reentry and towing - but you'd have to allow for more complex and touchy mechanics - but i'd rather not have it at right at the stern where the rear bounces out of the water - say forward 2 or 3 feet - call 'em 'slot rudders'.
