I may be pushing it a bit and if so just say so. Is he allowed visitors? If so and you want to post where he is there may be a builder near there who could drop by. Do let us know what kayak he is building as that will let us be much more specific in our suggestions.

Certainly there are many of us who love to talk about what we have done, both mistakes and successes and we all have had both.
