Hi

I paddled my West River one summer before I decided to mount rudder & footbraces in it. The good side of moutning the pedal itselt on some piece of wood before glueing it to the hull is that U get to adjust the angle of pedals so it fits your footangle when you sit in the kayak. Another nice thing is that the surfacearea gets bigger so that the pedals don't come off if you have to press hard on them.
