I have seen good methods for no hole installations that don't come loose. I have seen Keepers footbraces pop off at the rail regardless of the attachment to the hull. The through hull holes are easy and used by builders of $3600kayaks. Interior attachments are no harder than any other part of your building and used by home builders and manufacturers of $3600kayaks.
