MKII question

Would a center board help the MKII kayak sailrig point higher into the wind? That is, putting the centerboard, or daggerboard as it were thru the keel line of the kayak as opposed to the aka mounted swiveling one.

Nothing I intend to do soon but I was wondering of that would help close the windwar5.d pointing from 100 to 90 degrees. If not what would?
