Re: ch17 seating ideas?

Ray,

I recently completed my Ch-17 but have not rolled it yet. I am also still using the foam pad seat that came with the kit for now. However, I carved knee braces/pads out of minicell foam that came with the kit and they really help give me that locked in feeling and control for hip flick etc. Have you done this yet? If not it may help to keep your rear end where it should be. I also have the side pads attached to the vertical supports on each side of the seat which help too. If however, when I do roll and find out that I am not locked in enough, I will carve new side pads from minicell that are contoured to my hips. See: "http://www.kayakfit.com/" for some good information on doing this and other tips to help custom fit your kayak.

Good luck,

Chuck
