Hold of on that saw! I have both an oxford shell and the chesapeake 17lt both from clc. I wouldn't trade them for each other. They each have their own way of making watersports such a treat. Shell for speed and (in my case) challenging to stay afloat (oxford shell is excellent... I'm not) and the chesapeake I've taken for long rides (almost finished kayaking the Hudson River... Troy to Battery Park). They are each unique. Shell needs the length for stability. Oxford is 21 feet long by about 21 inches wide and piantdosi (sp) is an excellent rowing mechanism.
