yes,4mm. I made them after seeing the cut-outs for the A.Hawk kit. But instead of rounded rectangles I made them into rounded triangles with three finish washers providing the dimension. Thinking that a triangle provided a larger range of closure.
Then I got lazy after making a few dozen of that shape and made elliptical shaped ones. Make sure the grain is oriented on the long direction. I suppose you could glass them but I'm lazy so a good deep soaking with epoxy makes for a tough piece of wood. Make a few extra for mess-ups. When they're all cured up they look good enough for earrings or windchimes. I plopped them hot into slow cure epoxy for ten minutes and they cool off immediately sucking in the epoxy.
