Hatch Stifferner Install

Need some guidance from you experts. I am ready to install the hatch stiffeners ... those long pieces that look like lattice. Are they intended to go from sheer clamp to sheer clamp, or something shorter? Also, what technigues do you recommend for compressing the stiffners to the underside of the deck after applying epoxy? It does not appear that clamps will work for the job?
